The GatewayC team are pleased to announce that we have a new course ‘Skin Cancer – Early Diagnosis’ available to all healthcare professionals on GatewayC.
Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer and is increasing in incidence in the UK. Skin cancers most commonly arise from skin cells (known as non-melanoma or keratinocyte skin cancer) and pigment cells (melanomas), and rarely from other cells in the skin.
This course aims to support identification and early diagnosis of skin cancer.
You need a GatewayC account to access this online course. Don’t have a GatewayC account?
The course will support you to:
- Understand what should be included in a dermatology history
- Know how to accurately assess a skin lesion using a standardised approach
- Increase knowledge and confidence in decision making around skin cancer referrals.
The course should take approximately 1 hour to complete.
The course includes specialist interviews with Dr Rachel Abbott, a Consultant Dermatologist and Mohs Surgeon, at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.
This course has been developed in partnership with Melanoma UK and Skcin.
