It’s here! We are pleased to announce that GatewayC’s ‘Non-Specific Symptoms’ course is now available to access.

There is a cohort of patients with non-specific symptoms of which 8% are likely to be diagnosed with some form of cancer. Possible symptoms can include persistent back pain, weight loss and fatigue.

This course will support you to:

  • Recognise symptoms of cancer appropriate for referral through a non-specific symptom pathway
  • Increase confidence in carrying out investigations to exclude other causes of symptoms
  • Improve confidence in making decisions about when to use a specific and non-specific symptom pathway
  • Develop awareness of appropriate safety netting for patients with persistent symptoms
  • Explore how to talk honestly about referral with patients and how to support them through the process

The course includes a specialist interview with:

Dr Andrew Millar, Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist, NCL Cancer Alliance Joint Clinical Lead for Rapid Diagnostic Centres.
