New GatewayC Course: Sarcoma – Early Diagnosis

The GatewayC team are delighted to announce that we have a new course ‘Sarcoma -Early Diagnosis’ available to all healthcare professionals on GatewayC.

1 in 3 patients are diagnosed with sarcoma over 6 months after their initial appointment with a healthcare professional.

This new course aims to support identification and early diagnosis of sarcoma and increase confidence in clinical decision-making regarding referral on a suspected cancer pathway.

The course will support you to:

  • Understand the different types of sarcoma
  • Be more confident in recognising and exploring potential symptoms of sarcoma
  • Increase confidence in decision-making in relation to sarcoma referrals
  • Understand the role of primary care investigations when diagnosing sarcoma
  • Understand the importance of safety netting patients’ symptoms and investigations

The course should take approximately 1 hour to complete.

The course includes specialist interviews from:

  • Miss Gillian Cribb, Consultant Orthopaedic and Oncological Surgeon
  • Mr Amit Kumar, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon
