We are delighted to announce that GatewayC’s ‘Breast Cancer Recurrence’ course is available.
There are an estimated 35,000 people living with secondary breast cancer in the UK. Breast cancers most commonly recur in the first 2-3 years after primary diagnosis, however, breast cancer may also recur many years afterwards.

The course will support you to:
- Increase your awareness of symptoms of breast cancer recurrence
- Understand different patterns of recurrence in different tumour types
- Increase your confidence in decision-making about referring suspected recurrence
- Explore ways in which psychological support can be offered to patients fearing a recurrence
The course should take approximately one hour to complete.
The course includes specialist interview with:
- Dr Richard Simcock, Consultant Clinical Oncologist and Consultant Medical Adviser at Macmillan Cancer Support
The course includes patient stories from:
- Jo Taylor, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007 and has founded the organisation ABCD, After Breast Cancer Diagnosis.
- Natalie Woodford, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007 and secondary breast cancer in the bone in 2017.
