Communication is at the heart of GatewayC and fundamental to improving patient care. This series focuses on introductions and reflections from the team behind the programme.
In this post, we’re introducing GatewayC’s Programme Administrator, Emma Jones.
Could you tell us about your role?
My role involves organising and scheduling a number of things within the team to ensure that our plans are progressing on time and as planned. This includes plenty of reminding for everyone in the team.
What made you want to support the GatewayC programme?
I have had many family members and friends who have been affected by cancer. By being part of GatewayC, I am playing a part in educating and supporting GPs and primary care staff who diagnose and care for patients across the UK.
GatewayC expanded to all of England the month I joined and its already having a massive impact! Why wouldn’t I want to be involved?
What makes GatewayC unique?
The best thing about GatewayC is that the courses are so tangible. The use of video consultations between a GP/nurse and a patient makes the learning process more visual and therefore more appealing for our users.
Finally, could you tell us an interesting fact about yourself?
I am an internationally qualified referee of Men’s Lacrosse. This summer, I will be refereeing at the U19 World Championships in Limerick and the European Championships in Wroclaw.
